Paddleboards
Kailani Sports has specifically designed & constructed our boards to be suitable for multiple conditions. Our process starts with a 4 Axis machined and “hand sanded and shaped” expanded polystyrene (EPS) Blank. Our core blank is then cut down the middle to incorporate a wood stringer to increase its rigidity. Utilizing premium resins and epoxy’s, coupled with a triple layer of fibreglass, hand rolled with our proprietary VBT (Vacuum Bag Technology) for improved compression and removal of remaining air pockets. Each Kailani Sports SUP is then wrapped with premium bamboo veneer across the deck, rails and under belly of your SUP. Bamboo is a durable, naturally grown fiber, that has the highest strength to weight ratio but remains very light and very suitable for our paddleboard construction. Bamboo is also extremely buoyant, even while supporting the weight of a rider, Bamboo is also, a very sustainable product and grows abundantly and very quickly to replenish itself in its natural environment.
Kailani Sports SUP Board design allows for our boards to have the ability to be used on flat water lakes, “surfing” and in “chop” due to its planing hull design. Kailani Sports also has incorporated a moderate “Hard Rail” so that its suitable for surfing and still easy to turn on flat water . In addition to a “hard Rail” in order to efficiently surf, a Surf SUP board must also have a 2+1 Fin set up and a suitable rocker profile that eliminates the nose from “diving” under a wave. When looking to use your Kailani SUP Board on flat water lakes or rivers, you may remove the auxillary side fins and run just the single main 10” fin.
